Trustwave is a company work towards providing internet security for businesses. Even though it’s a privately held company, now they provides SSL certificates to their customers and now they are having more than 3 million business customer in almost 100 countries.

TrustWave SSL Certificate Review -Around the year 2014, it has been labeled as the leaders in managing security services by Forrester Research. They are having global offices all around the places such as London, Brazil, & Australia. One best thing regarding trustwave is that they are the only authorized PCI forensic investigators in all regions all around the world. The company filed for IPO in the mid of 2011 but still the company remains private. There are more than 1000 employees and now it is on the verge of becoming a globalised one. In the past April2015, Singapore telecommunications announced their intentions to purchase this company for nearly $1 billion. It has made a promise to raise Trustwave’s standing as a global Internet Provider of SSL certificates.

The Good

We liked the features that wide variety if standard SSL certificates are available for all sizes of business activities. We also admired that all their products are having standard SSL features in all their products at an affordable rate.

Pricing:

Trustwave’s prices are highly affordable, and it lies in the range starting with the mid-level SSL certificates and ending at the higher priced wildcard varieties. Some of the prices for SSL certificates which we have come across with a 3 years commitment in them are as follow.

  • Premium SSL :$ 118.67 for three years
  • Wildcard SSL: $451.67 for three years
  • EV SSL: $ 383.00 for three years

Wide variety of Products:

There are certain kinds of industries where we often found that there were a limited number of Enterprise-level certificates available. We found that the Enterprise level SSLs includes enhanced validation. It’s not necessary for all enterprise level business entrepreneurs to have this type of SSL certificates with EV in such case we noticed that they are offering a special Premium enterprise certificate that did not include EV.  On that other hand it offers high security compared to the single standard certificate for a website.  It’s price costs $ 159.96 per year for three years and their features includes:

  • Exact validation same as the premium SSL certificate
  • Highly Warranty liability coverage
  • Enhance pre validation services

This type of specially designed certificates will be a fit for those people who would like to have basic validation to their enterprise level businesses websites.

Green Bar in Web browser:

One best thing about trustwave is that they are offering Green bar in the web browser when a customer visits your websites. This is such a incredible feature which can creates trust to the visitors as soon as they starts loading your website.

We also impressed by its additional feature that is providing site seal with their service at free of cost. Presence of these site seal features offers benefits such as,

  • Increased website optimization
  • Less bounces from your website
  • More conversions on your e-commerce

The best with PCI Compliance in the Industry

During our review process, we have been admired by the fact that trustwave is the only global authorized PCI Forensic Investigator. This means that they are at the top of PCI compliance in the industry, setting the standard for online payments.

30-Day Money back Guarantee:

We have been admired by the fact that the 30 day money back guarantee was explained with its unique products and their own features on their websites. While reviewing other websites of SSL industry, we found that there is a need to initiate phone-in or read the FAQ section in order to know about a trial period or money back guarantee. While 30 days seems to be the standard in the industry, this gives customers an idea about testing trustwave and its unique features and benefits in the name of trail pack of Trustwave’s SSL certificate.

The Bad:

While researching on the Trustwave’s SSL certificates we find some concerns in them, it includes no stated issuance of time as well as the lack of high coverage of liability.

What’s the Issuance time?

We couldn’t find different issuance time in wide variety of SSL certificate descriptions. While doing some research on their products through their FAQ we found that their issuance time could happen instantly. However we found that the higher validation certificates takes extensively longer time for their works. The only thing which we would like to know is the issuance requirements along with the stated time for their different certificates which they are offering.

Low Liability warranty coverage:

In the SSL industry, you can get warranty liability, whatever you wish to get for whatever the money which you have paid. Trustwave generally offers mid-range coverage for the subscription prices whatever you pay and we found that the EV certificate came with the highest warranty coverage, upto $250,000 worth of liability. We found that there is a similar certificate offering $1.75 million coverage nearly at the same cost. We would like to know about the liability coverage which they cover with the standard one in the SSL industry.

The Bottom Line:

We recommend trust wave as a company which provides SSL certificates for their customers with global reputation and a pretty good record with the BBB. All around their unique features such as affordability, and some of the great features of standard SSL is remarkable.

We would like to look forward for the improvement in terms of liability warranty coverage. We would like to make sure that the customers who are viewing their website can have peace of mind while doing their purchases on them. In addition, we would like to know more about the Trustwave’s daily and routine malware scans and we are expecting them to offer this features as a part of their “total SSL package”.
